Singer songwriter Luke Lukess has been playing the scene throughout Australia for more than 15 years. Starting at the age of 12, Lukess has performed 1000's of shows throughout Australia and made his international debut in 2010 in the UK.
Best known for his song writing and being the front man for his alternate rock band My Future Lies, has seen Lukess produce songs played on MTV, The Apprentice (ch9) and more recently MTV's reality series Freshwater Blue which features 6 of his tunes. Added to this, he has co-written a song that has landed him a slot on the highest ever grossing film in China.
While constantly touring with his band Acid Eyeliner & My Future Lies, from 2005-2010, Luke played more than 450 live shows and sharing the stage with other bands such as The Veronicas, McFly, The Living End, Art vs Science, Short Stack & more.
Lukess has 2 full-length albums to his credit and a brand new solo ep that has been released late in 2010 entitled 'Oakdene Road'. 2011 will see Lukess add to the 34 tracks already available on itunes.
A dedicated guitarist, Lukess didn't begin singing till 2006. His ability to play all styles of guitar has landed him session work all over the world, including trips to the UK and New Zealand. Frequenting shows such as Hey Hey its Saturday, X Factor, The Today Show and Sunrise are now part of his every day life.
Lukess has also played more than 1800 shows in the cover scene as a guitarist.
Lukess, while hard working and growing more popular as his ability to write simple songs with meaning develops, has also been able to hold onto reality as an independent artist. Not yet approached by record labels, he has been staying in close contact with fans via social networking sites such as facebook & twitter.
While independent, record sales have seen his releases compete with the big boys including a number 5 spot on the Aria independent charts in 2010 for his album entitled Chasing the Moon.
2011 has seen Lukess recording with many different artists and bands. Working remotely and inhouse for some of Sydney's biggest studios and record labels, Luke's guitar playing and ability to work along side a producer is in demand.
Luke has been adopted as touring / recording guitarist for Aussie band Short Stack, recently completing an Australia tour along side USA pop punk group Good Charlotte and followed by a national tour backing the bands 2nd release 'This is Bat Country'. Luke will be joining the band in the studio for album no3.
In 2013, Luke has also been asked to record the guitars for break away lead singer Shaun Diviney's debut release.
Luke continues to work live, recently playing live on The Morning Show with Ciaren Gribben ( Front man for INXS ).
Luke has recently released 2 acoustic EPs, "Oakdene Road" and the 2012 follow up "Hey Shopkeeper". Both available on itunes. The race is on to finish the TIME CAPSULE - Best of Luke Lukess release by xmas 2013 which will feature more than 20 songs from 8 releases.
2013 has been a great year for Luke's songwriting, with the song "Are you with me" cowritten with Braddon Williams and Greg Agar being a great success in the asian film "Tiny
Times". The film has become China's highest grossing film of all time!
Luke toured around Australia with Harrison Craig, the winner of The Voice AU 2013 tv show. This was a great experience doing something very different from the usual LOUD rock shows!
Back with Short Stack in 2014/15 and another trip to the UK to help the band record their new album!
Luke is back on the road with Stack and performed alongside UK band The Vamps on their National tour Jan 2015.
